Why contract research organizations (CROs), life sciences companies, and clinical research laboratories are beginning to embrace 3D system improvements such as microscaffolds and 3D matrices ? The scientific community aknowledge that 2D cell culture and the use of cell lines, that have been cultured for tens of years, are not the most relevant ones. By using different technics, as derived patient cells, iPSC, 3D matrices, they are looking for cell culture systems that display intracellular signaling cascades better mimicking the in vivo situation. The ultimate goal would be to have so relevant systems that in vivo testing wouldn’t be necessary anymore.
