We will be present this week and next week in Rotterdam, to talk about 3D cell culture and the importance of the microenvironnement in the relevance of in vitro models. As you known, to mimic human tissues, several parameters need to be taken into account: the target cells, nutrient intake and the extra-cellular matrix (ECM). The ECM has diverse and crucial roles as anchorage of the cells, migration barrier and track, growth factors reservoir, signal presenter and is a source of biochemical forces maintening differentiated cells and homeostasis. The ECM is made of glycosaminoglycans – essentially hyaluronic acid (HA) – and of structural and adhesion proteins.

BIOMIMESYS® technology is the only technology using HA grafted with structural and adhesion proteins, as a biopolymer for the synthesis of 3D cell culture system. The process allows to keep all features of HA and thus to completely reproduce ECM properties. We will be pleased to discuss about this subject at 3D-Culture, Organoids & Tox Screening Europe 2019 and Lab-on-a-Chip & Microfluidics Europe 2019.
