It was a pleasure to be invited by the french association France Immersive Learning in the meeting “Immersive technology in health”. We presented our own uses of VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) in two different domains.

First, we used AR for the installation of our robotic platform, in partnership with Molecular Devices. It was a great help to validate all technical points before the physical installation. Few week ago, we installed a PICO microscope using this technology, thanks to “Shariiing for you” a remote expertise tool from Immersion. You can see this tool on the video below. We plan to use it again soon as we are preparing the installation of new laboratories.

We also presented how VR helps us to visualize 3D pictures taken with of confocal microscope. In particular, VR is uses to segmented objects in 3D pictures. It produces labeling for our machine learning and deep learning projects.

We have many other usages in minds, especially for maintenance of our devices and training. We plan to deploy it before the end of this year.
